Meet the Hope Staff

Rev. Brad Peterson

Sr. Pastor

What are your pastimes?
I really like working with my hands, especially building with wood and renovating my house. If I can build it I will come.

What is your favorite book?
John Piper’s “Christian Hedonism” I love this book because it reminds me to not settle. My passions for Christ need to be greater than they are and that is actually what God wants. Christianity isn’t meant to be stuffy or rigid. There is a sense that we are not selfish enough in our world and that is why we aren’t desiring God as much as we should.

What do you think is the best part of Hope?
The servant mindset that exists here. People are willing to roll up their sleeves and “get ‘er done.”

What is your favorite book of the Bible and why?
Philippians. Always loved it. I think it is practical and calls us to be serving others while being content in Christ.

What is your favorite book of the Bible and why?
My favorite book of the Bible is Colossians. I have heard this book described as one of the most Christ-exalting books in the Bible and I couldn’t agree more.

What is your favorite book of the Bible and why?
There are many favorites, but one of my all time favorites is Exodus because it chronicles God’s power and provision to his people. It helps me to remember everything God has done for me through Christ.

Which characteristic of Christ do you admire the most?
His humanity. Although He is fully God, Jesus is also fully human who understands what all that means. Philippians 2:5-7
